At -22%, sports drinks not only achieved the worst performance amongst all soft drinks in Q3-11 but also recorded the category's lowest quarterly result in four years. Both premium brands and discounter sales were affected. This compares with an exceptionally good Q2-11 performance achieved by a strong promotional push.
