ARTEM for the Davis family ? UT | Reece's Rainbow Adoption ...

Lorie has aspired to adopt or foster children since she was approximately 13 years old. Lorie and JD Davis are 10 year veterans within the Civil Affairs community of Army Reserves. During their first deployment to Iraq in 2004, the two best friends fell in love and were married May 7th, 2005, after returning home. During their deployment, Lorie, being a member of the Public Education Team, had first hand experience in helping children of a foreign nation. This experience only made her yearn to help children even stronger. In the summer of 2005, their first child, Lorelai, was born. They looked into Foster Care, but was told that they had not been married long enough to apply, as well as they prefer you not apply during pregnancy or with a small baby at, so that more attention could be placed on the Foster Child. Instead, they put their energy into becoming volunteer youth ministers of their local church at the time in Pasadena, Tx. In 2007, JD was deployed on a second tour to Iraq, while their second child, Corbyn, was only 5 months old. This tour created hardships and trials in their marriage, and through God?s grace and mercy, they became stronger and closer than ever before. In 2008 they began volunteering as ?substitute parents? for two young brothers that were living at the Boys and Girls Harbor. They would pick them up on every other weekend and some holidays, and give the boys more attention and a change of atmosphere in their lives. Months later, JD lost his job and took an Active Duty position with the Reserves, which moved them to Utah. In their first year in Utah, they had their third child, Adyson, and finally became licensed Foster Care Parents. After 6 months of waiting for a child placement, they felt God wanted Lorie and the kids to temporarily go back home to Texas and be with Family during the last few months of a family member?s life. After six months, they reunited in Utah, and shortly after became pregnant with their fourth child, Leilani. Since her birth in March, 2012 they have felt a strong urge to adopt and both of them felt the Lord possibly putting special needs children on their heart. In a weird turn of events, like only God can do, they were presented Artem around four or five times within a month. While praying for him to receive the forever family he deserves, they felt the Lord said it was them. Everyday they are overwhelmed with the many steps as well as costs of International adoption. Yet everyday, they pray to God telling him, ?you have brought us to this boy, only you can make him our son.? They appreciate any and all prayers, and if you can donate to this cause, that will help too.
